Broken hand for Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold after Lofoten Skyrace – news Nordland

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has suffered a fracture in her right hand after a fall during Saturday’s Lofoten Skyrace. She confirms this herself in a press release. – I fell during the Lofoten Skyrace and noticed that something was wrong with my hand. It turned out to be broken. The hand is in plaster, and I don’t know how long. Now I will train alternatively and creatively going forward, says Tandrevold. Doctor for the women’s elite team, Aasne Fenne Hoksrud, says everything indicates that it is a so-called uncomplicated fracture. – The fracture is in a favorable place in the hand, and not in the root of the hand, where it would be even more boring to sustain a fracture. Ingrid will probably have to wear a cast for at least three weeks, and then an orthosis (support splint) for one to two weeks after that again, says Hoksrud. She further estimates that it will be 4-5 weeks before Tandrevold can use her hand again. This means that a good part of the traditional and planned summer training must be replaced by a more gentle variant. – As I know Ingrid, she will come out of this strengthened, says the doctor.
