Bodø/Glimt took a typical 3-1 victory against Latvian Rigas FS in Riga on Wednesday evening. This means that the team from Bodø is through to the Champions League’s third round. There, by all accounts, they meet the Polish team Jagiellonia Bialystok, who at the time of writing lead 5-0 on aggregate against Panevezys from Lithuania. However, it did not happen without drama. Surprisingly, it was the Latvian team that took the lead. Wide-sided into the lead After 14 minutes, Janis Ikaunieks wide-sided into Riga’s lead, and put a dent in the yellow-clad. Ismaël Diomandé took the ball with him along the right edge and put the ball 45 degrees out, where Ikaunieks was waiting. Reserve goalkeeper Julian Faye Lund was after the ball, but could not do much with a well-placed finish. After 40 minutes there were cheers the other way, at LNK Sporta Parks. Oscar Kapskarmo was awarded a penalty after a VAR check. The weekender was regularly boxed in the head by goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa. After a check on the VAR screen, the referee blew his whistle, and the penalty was a fact. Jens Petter Hauge dispatched it ice-cold into the left corner.
