28 July 2022 at 07:35 Largest pink diamond in over 300 years A large pink diamond has been found in Angola. It is probably the largest find of this type of gemstone in over 300 years. – This record-breaking and spectacular pink diamond found in Lulo shows that Angola is still an important player on the world stage, says Angola’s minister for mineral resources, who has the appropriate name Diamantino Azevedo. Lulo is a mine in the north-east of Angola, which is operated by an Australian mining company in collaboration with the authorities in Angola. The stone has been named after the mine and the colour: “Lulo Rose”. It is the mining company itself that informs about the find. The diamond is 170 carats and weighs 34 grams. Similar diamonds have previously been sold for over one hundred million kroner. Pink diamonds are rare and can be difficult to cut. Shiny, white diamonds are more common and can be much larger than pink diamonds.
