Several demonstrators have started an action at the energy fair ONS in Stavanger. Now they want to show that a conference which is about further developing the oil industry will not be allowed to continue in peace. – We had hoped to block a little longer, but we have at least tried to do something, says Haugen. She also warns of more demonstrations from Extinction Rebellion during ONS 2024. Haugen and Viken were also carried away by the police and into a police car, when they refused to move. Interrupted opening event In the opening event for young people at ONS, the feature by Equinor CEO Anders Opedal was interrupted. A protester stood by the door to the hall and criticized Opedal and the oil industry in general. He spoke for almost two minutes before being carried away. Before this, another protester stormed in and shouted at Opedal, calling him a liar. He was taken away immediately. He is said to have been a member of Extinction Rebellion.
