Tuesday, April 22, Eidissen: No one in Norway will hire you when you are kicked! Tuesday, April 22, Eidissen: I will say lots of well -deserved negative about you in the public space. Hope that means you never get a job with anyone again! Late Tuesday night last week it “boiled a little over,” says Benn Eidissen, Benn Eidissen. The municipal director in Andøy municipality, Andreas Jordell, had proposed a decision Eidissen did not like. It led to Eidissen sending him a number of messages: should crush you! And you’re Dead Duck! Now Eidissen admits that he could moderate rhetoric. But: He stands 100 percent for the reality of the case. Benn Eidissen is a well -known businessman in Nordland. He has long been involved in The Whale. Photo: Private grant or loan? The Whale is a planned whale museum and knowledge center to be built on Andenes. The project currently has a cost limit of NOK 630 million, which will be financed through a splice team between public and private players. One of the major investors is Andøy municipality, which has decided to contribute NOK 72 million. VOL mentioned the text messages first. This is how The Whale can look. Photo: Architectural Competition for The Whale But last week the politicians in Andøy Municipality were to gather for chairmanship meeting. Before the meeting came municipal director Andreas Jordell with a concern: Was the project’s funding well enough documented? And could the grant of NOK 72 million possibly be turned into a loan? That made Benn Eidissen react. He is chairman of The Whale and on the owner side through Eidissen Consult AS. Hope you never get a new job anywhere! On Tuesday morning, the day before the Presidency meeting, Eidissen sent the following text message to Jordell: Hi Andreas! Tried to call just but did not get an answer. You have not contacted me in terms of answers to the questions you ask in the case for the presidency tomorrow. Have you contacted others in The Whale as regarding this? If yes: Who and when? We have full control over our project and need no help from Andøy municipality for quality assurance. I recommend you use the administration’s resources on the municipal projects that are obviously beyond any control. But still ask you for answers today on the questions I have asked. Greetings Benn Eidissen. Later in the evening, when Eidissen had not yet received a response to the text message, it developed into a dialogue: Benn Eidissen: See that you do not respond. You are shame for Norwegian democracy. Bebenn Eidissen: Hope you never get a new job anywhere! Ajandreas Jordell: Hi Benn. I answered you earlier today, by email. What are you missing answers to? Benn Eidissen: You don’t answer anything new from you that we haven’t answered. You do not contribute anything but unfounded negative. You only have one agenda: the destruction of The Whale. Hope and think it will be your path. Benn Eidissen: No one in Norway will hire you when you are kicked! Benn Eidissen: I will say lots of well -deserved negatively about you in the public space. Hope that means you never get a job with anyone again! Benn Eidissen: You are Dead Duck! Bebenn Eidissen: See you tomorrow. Jordell replies by saying “Hi Benn”, before adding that it was “a little violent”. To news, he elaborates on how he experienced getting such text messages from one of Nordland’s most profiled businessmen: – It appears to be threats, and it is unpleasant, he says, pointing out that this is a matter he has recorded. The message log between the two is published in Andøy Municipality’s mailing list. It shows that the municipal director replies Eidissen that the administration demands information they need to be able to assess the matter against the award criteria. Ajandreas Jordell: The most important thing we need confirmation is that the project is fully financed. I understand that was well worked on until Easter. Then should it be a narrow matter to submit documentation on this to the municipality? Benn Eidissen: Not violent – just answer violence! Will crush you! Bebenn Eidissen: I mean you and your couple horses and advisor technical manager. Ajandreas Jordell: It’s not okay for you to threaten me and my staff in this way, Benn. I beg you stop. A healthy local democracy is based on a regime where the administration is able to make its assessments, neutral and independent, and where political leadership can exercise its discretion. It is perfectly fine that you disagree with the assessments the administrations have made. It is unfortunate that, as chairman of The Whale, you go to personal attacks on me, up against that role, the responsibility and the duty of investigation I have. Boiled over Jordell says he has not thought much about the messages afterwards, but that he has never experienced anything like it. – I started to question some professionalism. And I think that’s unlucky. Benn Eidissen tells news that he could use a more parliamentary language, but that the proposal from the municipal director – to turn the grant into a loan – made it boiled a little over. – If a majority of politicians had adopted such a thing, there would have been a lawsuit against the municipality of tens of millions of NOK. Then it cooked a little over for me, I just have to admit. Benn Eidissen is chairman of The Whale. The Whale is a planned whale museum and knowledge center. Photo: Oliver Rønning / news Just over a year ago, Avisa Nordland mentioned how Benn Eidissen ended up in war with Red politician Andreas Tymi. At that time, the quarrel was about Bodø/Glimt, and Tymi had to endure, among other things, that Eidissen called him a zero. – Is it that people should go around being afraid of being scolded by Benn Eidissen? – No, not if there is no basis for it. When there is a basis for it, they can risk it. I am an honest man, good and bad. A real northern line, the chairman replies. -You are also a powerful player in the Andøy community, perhaps one of the most powerful. When you write messages like this, which ends up in the public, how proven are you your own role? – I’m myself. I have no role thinking. I am honest and right on the case. The Whale is planned to become a spectacular adventure center. Photo: MIR Not lucky the mayor of Andøy, Kjell-Are Johansen, tells news that such rhetoric Eidissen shows in the text messages, should not occur. – Such rhetoric should not take place in formal or informal conversations. Here you should talk about case and not people, he says, pointing out that you should have normal folk and that this is not lucky. The mayor of Andøy, Kjell-Are Johansen thinks it is a pity that a case like this is getting attention over the whale. Photo: Sofie Retterstøl Olaisen / news Benn Eidissen says he has a great understanding that the mayor thinks his rhetoric does not belong in public. But he also mentions that he still disagrees with the municipal director: – He is inept. He is a disaster for the Andøy community, says Eidissen, adding that he has said it both to Jordell and Johansen. Decided to provide grants Municipal Director Jordell replies that he believes many in Andøy agree that he has had a role in a lot of positive development over the last three years, and that Eidissen is allowed to have the opinions he wants. – I think he is rhetorically weak when he chooses to scold those who disagree with him. Instead of coming up with counter -arguments that could have been possible to discuss, he chooses to scold. The day after the notification exchange, the Presidency meeting was held. There it was decided that The Whale will receive NOK 72 million in grants. Mayor Johansen tells news that they disagreed with the municipal director in that more documentation was needed. – Correct. We were. We asked the municipal director to comply with the agreements that had been entered into earlier. Published 30.04.2025, at. 21.23 Updated 30.04.2025, at. 22.46
