Former PST chief Hans Sverre Sjøvold was allowed to keep the security clearance even though he was punished for illegal possession of weapons for several years. The Minister of Justice is now asking the National Security Authority (NSM) to carry out inspections of the clearance authorities in order to investigate any discrimination. This is stated in a letter she sent to the Storting’s control and constitution committee on Wednesday. VG has written a number of cases where the newspaper has revealed matters surrounding this case. Hans Sverre Sjøvold recently resigned as PST chief due to the case.
