So far, 35 cases have been identified, says finance and management director Marianne Fålun, to news. On the evening of 12 December, it was discovered that some users have not received their payments because the users’ account numbers have been changed. Nav then stopped the possibility to change the account number. – We take the matter seriously and understand that it is perceived as burdensome for those affected, says Fålun. Nav recommends users who know they have been affected to contact their own bank as soon as possible and to report the fraud to the police. People who suspect that they have been affected are advised to log into nav and check which account number they are registered with as a user. – Fraud attempts via SMS and e-mail are a growing trend. It is very unfortunate with such campaigns which intend to deceive people, and which can have major consequences for the individual, writes Nav. A warning has been posted on Nav’s website, where there are also tips on how to expose attempted fraud.
