Among those killed is a 5-year-old girl. Israel states that 15 militants have been killed, among them a high-ranking jihadist, in what they call targeted and precise attacks. According to Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, the Israeli attack was “a preventive anti-terrorist operation against an imminent threat”, reports AFP. The organization Islamic Jihad calls the Israeli attack a declaration of war. Over 100 rockets are said to have been fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel last night. Israel confirms at least 70. Many of them were shot down by the Iron Dome air defense system, while others landed in unpopulated areas. Aircraft alarms went off in several places in southern and central Israel last night, and people were asked to go to shelters, but no injuries were reported.
