Art Basel Miami Beach 2025: A Global Hub for Contemporary Art
The International Art Fair Art Basel Miami Beach has officially unveiled its exhibitors list for the much-anticipated 2025 edition, scheduled to take place from December 5 to 7 in Miami Beach, Florida. With 285 galleries participating this year—of which 41 are new entrants—this marks a significant expansion in the fair’s outreach and influence.
Witnessing its twenty-third edition, the fair will showcase artists from 44 countries and territories, with a special focus on contemporary American artistic currents. Among the various highlights are innovative proposals that emphasize Latin, indigenous, and diaspora perspectives. This year’s event aims to reinforce Miami Beach’s position as a critical bridge between North America and South America, offering a panoramic view of regional creative influences in a global context.

Bridget Finn, the director of Art Basel Miami Beach, expressed that the caliber and relevance of this year’s exhibitors reaffirm the fair’s pivotal role within the global art ecosystem. The event not only features established names from Latin America, the USA, Europe, Asia, and Africa, but it also serves as a global platform to spotlight the works of modern artists, including those from emerging backgrounds.
The Latin American galleries participating this year hail from countries like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Peru, and Uruguay. Among these, The Apartment, representing Cuba, makes its debut in the fair, enhancing the diversity of the offerings.
“This edition reflects the vitality of artistic production in the Americas,” Finn noted, emphasizing how it continues to shape contemporary artistic practices and dialogues worldwide. The fair serves as a critical platform for introducing pioneering international artists and fresh perspectives to the US market.

From the USA, the fair is poised to welcome a wave of exciting emerging galleries from the flourishing artistic scene of New York, while the presence from the West Coast is notably expanding with nearly 50 galleries from California. This vibrant mix promises an enriching experience for attendees.
In the international arena, approximately 100 exhibitors from Europe, Asia, and Africa will also be represented. There is a substantial presence from prominent art regions like the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, and Japan.
“This is a daring, demanding, and highly connected edition,” said Finn, highlighting the exciting dynamics of the upcoming fair. The structure of Art Basel Miami Beach comprises various specialized sectors: Galleries, featuring both modern and contemporary works; Nova, showcasing recent works produced in the last three years; Positions, focusing on solo exhibitions from emerging artists; and Survey, which dedicates itself to galleries highlighting historically significant artistic practices from 1900 to 1999.
Moreover, the 2025 event will coincide with the announcement of the gold medalists from the inaugural Art Basel Awards, where outstanding artists like Cecilia Vicuña, Nair Baghramian, and Meriem Bennani have been nominated. This celebration of talent and diversity in the art world will elevate the fair’s significance within both the local and global art communities.
This upcoming Art Basel Miami Beach promises to be a landmark event in the art calendar, serving not only as an exhibition space but also as a vibrant point of dialogue and exchange among artists, galleries, and visitors from around the globe. Art Basel Miami Beach continues to solidify its position as a pivotal player in the contemporary art scene, reflecting the evolving landscape of global art and culture.
