27 October 2022 at 20:32 Arsenal-owned Pablo Mari injured after stabbing A 46-year-old Italian has been arrested by the military police carabineri, after stabbing six people at the Milanofiori shopping center in Assago just outside Milan in northern Italy, La Repubblica reports. The attack took place inside the Carrefour supermarket. A man in his 30s is dead and three men are seriously injured. Among the injured is the Spanish footballer Pablo Mari, who plays for the Italian club Monza. He is on loan from Premier League club Arsenal. Arsenal confirm on their website that Mari, who is on loan to Italian Serie A club Monza, is among those affected. – We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent, who has said that he is in hospital and not seriously injured, it says. – Our thoughts are with Pablo and the other victims of this terrible incident. Two elderly women were also stabbed, but have minor injuries. The perpetrator is said to have taken the knife from a shop shelf. The background to the attack is not known. Mari made 14 appearances for Arsenal before being sent out on loan. He has visited both Udinese and Monza in Italian football in recent seasons. (news/NTB)
