Arrested after car theft raid in Eastern Norway – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

Inlandet police district reports that two men in their 30s were arrested yesterday during a planned police operation. They are charged with aggravated forgery or complicity in this. The arrests were made at two different addresses in Romerike. – We are now considering whether these two should be produced for remand, says police attorney Christine Lundstein. A month ago, another man was arrested in the same case, and has admitted stealing stolen cars. UNCOVERING NETWORKS: Police attorney Christine Lundstein. Seven cars were found here, but the police believe a further three cars can be linked to this warehouse. INTERNATIONAL NETWORK: The police believe the plan was to prepare these cars to be sent abroad and sold there. Photo: Police International network The police’s hypothesis is that this is an international criminal network, where the cars are modified and sent out of the country. They have used so-called “frontly hacking”, where the criminals can take control of the car even if the owner has the keys. This happens by getting into the car’s wiring harness at the front wheel arch. They then connect to the wiring harness by the headlights and in that way gain control of the car. The method has previously been discussed by the magazine Motor. An expert tells the magazine that manufacturers must work with encryption to protect themselves against this type of theft. The investigation has revealed that this method has been used on several of the cars in the case. Falsified documentation Christine Lundstein has previously stated that several cars have been taken out of Norway with falsified documentation. She expects that this also applies to several of these cars. A car that was stolen from the interior in September, for example, was found again in Belarus with Ukrainian plates. – Terrifying experience news has previously interviewed a car owner who has been exposed to this. Marit Fredriksen lives at Stange in Innlandet, and says that she has found it frightening that they apparently had the property and the car under some supervision before carrying out the theft.
