2 December 2022 at 02:37 Appeals court rejects Trump’s attempt to delay investigation In the United States, an appeals court has rejected former President Donald Trump’s attempt to prevent the Department of Justice from examining large amounts of documents that he took with him when he moved from the White House. The documents that were seized in an FBI raid on Trump’s estate Mar-a-Lago, is state property and should have been placed in the state’s records system. The seizure includes around 100 classified and top secret documents. The three appeals court judges, all appointed by Republican presidents, ruled that there was nothing illegal about the FBI’s search and seizure. They also rejected Trump’s claim that the search and seizure violated his rights, and that as a former president he was entitled to special treatment. (AFP-news)
