Three months after the decision in the Fosen case, it became clear that new developers wanted to build more wind power in the grazing area at Fosen. It was the companies Nordic Wind AS and Aneo that looked at the possibility of development in and near the much-discussed area. The Trondheim-based company Aneo is now scrapping its plans. – We have listened to the reindeer herding industry Executive director for communications at Aneo, Ole Martin Buene, confirms that they have put the development plans on hold. – After dialogue with the reindeer husbandry industry, we have decided not to pursue the possibility of development. Both Aneo and Nordic Wind contacted landowners and the municipalities of Inderøy and Indre Fosen about possibilities for developing wind power. – We have been in early dialogue with the reindeer herding industry. – They have been clear that they do not want us not to go ahead with the project. We have taken that recommendation seriously. The reindeer owners are happy – I am happy that Aneo has shelved further plans for wind power at Fosen. That’s what Leif Arne Jåma, manager of Sør-Fosen sitje, says. At the same time, he points out that Aneo is only one of two companies that have had plans to develop wind power in Indre-Fosen. – Now Nordic Wind must know its visiting time and take its hat and go. Nordic Wind is investigating the possibility of building wind turbines within the grazing area. They have made contact with landowners and carried out an orientation for the chairmanship campaigns in Inderøy and Fosen municipalities. The area Aneo investigated for development was outside, but close to, the reindeer herding district. – As long as the municipalities have not clearly said no, we will continue the mapping work, said CEO of Nordic Wind, Terje Dyrstad to news last week.
