An increasing trend, according to the wine monopoly – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

When Dennis Olsen decided to stop drinking alcohol, it was mainly a fun New Year’s resolution. But the New Year’s resolution never ended. – I am still sober, and am into my fifth year without alcohol, says the 27-year-old. Olsen says that he was determined not to change his social habits when he stopped drinking alcohol. Nor has he done so. – I was going to a party, ours, nach and I was going to say stupid things. Yes, I should do exactly the same as always. And I’m clear. According to Vinmonopolet, this is an increasing trend among young people. THE SHELF WITH ALCOHOL-FREE: Dennis trades at the wine monopoly even though he is an abstainer. Then he uses the non-alcoholic shelf. He says that sales of non-alcoholic beverages are in the category that has the most growth. So far this year, the wine monopoly’s sales have fallen by 18 per cent, as a result of tax-free, outdoor trade and cross-border trade having picked up. Non-alcoholic beverages, however, have grown by as much as 26 per cent. – This is a heavy national trend. The wine monopoly will sell more alcohol-free in 2022 than ever before. And that in a market that is falling. It is very exciting, we think. LARGER RANGE: – The non-alcoholic shelf is growing. We offer more and more products on the market, and that is probably also one of the reasons why sales are increasing – that we have simply got a very exciting breadth in the products, says Jens Nordahl, press officer for Vinmonopolet. Photo: Vinmonopolet Nordahl talks about the «NoLo trend», which stands for «no or low alcohol». He says young people are leading the trend in buying alcohol-free. – It can look like that, and at least when it comes to other types of goods that have a lower alcohol content. We see that sales are turning towards light and bright. People opt out of products with a high sugar content, high calorie content and high alcohol content in favor of slimmer styles – including alcohol-free. ALCOHOL-FREE: The wine monopoly in Hamar, which has one of the country’s largest sales, is part of the national trend. They have a decline in sales of 20 percent, slightly above the national average. And a growth of 26 percent on non-alcoholic. Photo: Selene Fjellvang Lie / news – In this way, the non-alcoholic old woman becomes the current. It clearly shows that people are concerned with living healthy, Nordahl adds. Do you drink alcohol-free at parties? Yes, I often bring non-alcoholic drinks to parties Yes, but I usually drink alcoholic drinks at parties No, here it only goes to alcoholic drinks at parties Show result Recommends the trend Like 27-year-old Olsen, does not drink 19 years either old Celine Hovelsen at a party. She has never felt the need to drink alcohol, and would recommend young people to follow the trend. – Some may not agree, while others will take this as a fun challenge. I like music and atmosphere, but why do you have to have alcohol when you can have fun anyway. So, just grab some candy and soda, sort of. – I think a little about health. I would rather be able to go exercise than be hungover. I can eat candy while others throw up, she says. 27-year-old Olsen points out that the range at the wine monopoly has improved considerably during the five years he has been an abstainer. – Before there were only Munkholm and Klaustaler, now there are hundreds of beers that are alcohol-free and good. Like Hovelsen, he recommends young people to try themselves without alcohol at parties. – If a beer with a slightly lower percentage or no percentage can make you go out on the dance floor, then you do not have to get drunk to talk to people, he says. GOOD ALTERNATIVES: – There are more and more alternatives to alcohol. The market is growing, and you can get what you want, says Dennis Olsen. Photo: Selene Fjellvang Lie / news
