There is an error in the so-called Notam system which has led to no aircraft being allowed to take off in the USA. This system provides important information to the pilots. In its latest update, the Federal Aviation Administration FAA writes that it has ordered airlines to suspend all domestic flight departures until 9 a.m. East Coast Time – 3 p.m. Norwegian time. This is reported by the AFP news agency. The website FlightAware writes that there are a total of 1,371 canceled flights and 1,230 delays in, to or from the United States to date. – We are working on restoring the Notam system. We perform final validation checks and reload the system. Operations across the national airspace system are affected, the FAA said in a statement. There will be frequent updates as progress is made in the work. Planes that are in the air can land as planned, but no planes are allowed to take off at the moment. US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says he has been in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration. He states that efforts are being made to resolve the problems quickly and safely, so that air traffic can resume. The airline United Airlines says according to CNN that it has delays on all domestic flights. American Airlines says it is working with the FAA to minimize problems for its customers.
