Alex Jones sentenced to pay compensation – Latest news – news

4 August 2022 at 23:44 Alex Jones ordered to pay compensation American radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered to pay $4.1 million in damages to the family of a student killed in the Sandy Hook school massacre in 2012. Jones has repeatedly claimed that the massacre never took place. A jury in Austin Texas upheld the boy’s parents’ claim after a two-week trial, reports Reuters. Jones has claimed that the massacre was staged by the authorities and anti-gun activists, repeating the claims on his radio show and on the website Infowars. 20 six- and seven-year-olds and six adults were shot and killed at the Sandy Hook school in Newton in the state of Connecticut on December 14, 2012. The school shooting is among the deadliest in American history. The parents of 6-year-old Jesse Lewis told the trial that for years they have been harassed and received death threats by supporters of Alex Jones who have believed his claims. During the trial it emerged that Jones knew the massacre had really happened, and he admitted it for the first time when a series of emails were produced. The jury will now assess the size of the final compensation to the parents. They have demanded up to 75 million dollars from Jones, who they believe has profited greatly from keeping the conspiracy theory alive.
