Aker BP enters into an agreement with over 200 Norwegian suppliers in the construction of new oil fields – news Trøndelag

Aker BP writes this in a press release on Friday morning. It is the Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP-Fenris oil fields that mean that Norwegian suppliers have secured contracts. – The development projects Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP-Fenris are a direct response to the activity package that was adopted in the Storting three years ago. It was supposed to ensure activity, preserve jobs, develop expertise and further develop the industry in a time that was characterized by a pandemic, record low oil prices and a sharp drop in investment. This is what CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik of Aker BP writes in a press release. – Now Aker BP and its license partners deliver in accordance with expectations from the politicians. There will be even more jobs The contracts that have now been entered into will secure jobs for over 130,000 employees in the coming years, the company writes. The construction projects must be completed in 2027/2028. Since the Ministry of Oil and Energy gives the go-ahead for a number of oil and gas projects, Aker BP also says that the number of man-years will increase in the future. They can already say that over 150,000 man-years have been secured due to the approvals. – Yggdrasil and Valhall PWP-Fenris are possible thanks to a world-class Norwegian industry that supplies complex oil and gas projects. Many of these will also take Norway further into new value chains, says Hersvik. Framo in Bergen supplies pumps to Valhall PWP-Fenris and Tratec Halvorsen in Kvinesdal supplies process tanks to Yggdrasil. Linjepartner, FireNor in Kristiansand and Leirvik AS have also secured contracts. – Linjepartner has received a contract of over NOK 100 million with Yggdrasil power from land. This ensures a good base load in our company for the next two years as well as a developing and interesting workplace for all our employees in and outside Trøndelag, says managing director Stig Myhr. Celebration in Verdal Aker in Verdal builds undercarriage for the oil platforms. Today they invite you to a celebration. – These developments are very important for Norway. We will mark that together with politicians, trade unions, other national stakeholders, our own employees, license partners, and not least and most importantly, strategic partners and suppliers, concludes Karl Johnny Hersvik.
