25 July 2024 at 22:53 Airbase in Iraq hit by rockets – no Norwegians injured Four rockets are said to have hit the Ain al-Asad airbase in western Iraq, which houses US coalition forces, the news agency Reuters reports on Thursday evening. – We can confirm that there has been a rocket attack there, spokesperson Hanne Olafsen at the Norwegian Defense Headquarters tells news. There was an impact of approx. 2 km outside what is considered the area where the Norwegians stay. – All the Norwegians are safe, and after the attack were asked to take cover, but are now back in normal operation.
