The ceasefire is scheduled to apply from 4 to 11 May, writes Reuters. A ceasefire was also introduced last week, but this broke down at the weekend when the attacks on the capital Khartoum were brought up. Sudan has been characterized by major protests after military coup plotters took power in 2021. From 15 April this year, there have been bloody battles between government forces and the paramilitary group RSF.
