30 November 2023 at 13:53 Agree on a climate fund for the poor The countries participating in the UN climate summit have agreed on the conditions for a climate fund for losses and damages to the world’s poor countries. Almost immediately, a number of countries declared how much money they would inject into the fund. Following the announcement of the fund’s terms, the host nation of the summit, the United Arab Emirates, has pledged $100 million to the fund, the conference reports on its X account. Germany will also contribute 100 million dollars, writes NTB. Climate financing for the world’s poorer countries has been discussed at the UN’s annual climate conferences for many years. The fund is aimed at people in areas of the world that are and have been exposed to massive damage due to climate change.
