Last Friday, a worker died at a construction site in the center of Molde. A several tonne heavy concrete element came loose and one person got over it. Shortly afterwards, it became clear that the person in question died. The police now believe that the colleague who was also in the city was negligent before the tragic accident. – The investigation has so far given reason to suspect that the man who was with the deceased in the city, was negligent, and that this was the cause of the tragic accident, says police inspector Anders Skorpen-Trøen. It was a 48-year-old from Trøndelag, Jo Are Støen from Steinkjer, who died during construction work last Friday. Also aiming for the employer But the aiming applies not only to an individual, but also to the company for which the two worked. – We have also charged the employer for not having made proper work equipment available for the work that was to be performed, says police attorney Anders Skorpen-Trøen. Police Inspector Skorpen-Trøen states that the investigation is proceeding with a broad perspective in collaboration with the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority.
