Two people ended up in the sea at the speed boat dock in Abelsvær when the boat was about to dock. – What has happened is that a person has ended up in the water from the jetty and then there is someone who tried to save him, says police investigative leader Kristin Følstad to news. The man who fell into the water from the jetty was confirmed dead at the scene. The person who jumped from the boat has been sent to the emergency room. Eventually they reported that an accident had occurred. It was disgusting and uncomfortable, says passenger Mathilde Moen. She and just under 30 other passengers are still on board the boat. It was on its way from Rørvik to Namsos and drove on towards Namsos just before 11.00. – Those who work on board have coped well with the situation. He is the general manager of Vidar Hop Skyssbåter, which operates the boat. – I must commend the crew for the efforts they have made in this case, he adds. Hop says they are very sorry for what has happened and feel for everyone affected. Bus for boat – First and foremost, we want to express our condolences to relatives and those affected in this accident. How this accident happened is still too early to say, and is being followed up by the police and operator, says Grete Opsahl. She is director of marketing and communications at AtB. Boat departures have been canceled as a result of the accident and buses have been set up for boats on the affected departures. – The way it looks, the boat will go as normal again from 12.10, says Opsahl.
