The violent incident took place outside a nightclub in Markens gate. The police quickly got control of the perpetrator in his 20s. Quick arrest – We received a report of a violent incident in Markens gate and we came into contact with a person who had an injury to the throat. The patrol quickly got a description of the perpetrator and we had many patrols looking for this person, operations manager Øyvind Hægeland in the Agder police district tells news. He says a person who fit the description was quickly spotted. – This person was arrested and we believe he is the perpetrator, says Hægeland. The man was conscious when he was taken away. – The injured person was taken care of by ambulance and taken to hospital for further treatment. He was conscious and had injuries and bleeding in his throat, says Hægeland, who describes the injury as serious, but not life-threatening. The police reported the incident that happened in Markens gate at 01.12. – We do not know anything about the cause, says the operations manager to news. He says the police are taking the incident seriously. – It is a serious incident of violence, something we prioritize and where we want to do as thorough a job as possible. To be questioned on Friday The arrested man will be questioned later on Friday. The police reported the violent incident at 01:12 on Friday night. About half an hour later, the police had left the scene after securing evidence and questioning witnesses.
