A medical evacuation plane has taken off from Oslo Airport – it is uncertain whether it will pick up King Harald

The armed forces will transport him home. – It is important that the king comes home when he has fallen ill and we of course make arrangements for that. This is what Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram (Sp) says on Thursday evening. The armed forces ensure transport – In the coming days, the armed forces will support with air transport to ensure efficient and safe transport for His Majesty the King. That was written by the Norwegian Defense Forces in a press release on Thursday afternoon. NTB has been in contact with the Norwegian Armed Forces, who do not wish to comment on whether the plane that took off will pick up the king. For reasons of security, they will not go into detail about the time of the transport and how the king will get home to Norway. On the road to recovery The King’s personal physician announced on Thursday that King Harald is recovering and that he is still being treated in hospital. The Royal Household further stated that King Harald will be in the hospital for a few more days and that he is well looked after. The king fell ill during his holiday stay in Malaysia, and is hospitalized there, with an infection. The king receives good follow-up from both Malaysian and Norwegian medical personnel. The plane that took off from Gardermoen is a plane that has previously been converted into an advanced flying ambulance. Last summer, the aircraft was used for the medical evacuation of patients from Ukraine. It was NTB that mentioned the case first.
