1/ Les bougies parfumées

« Elles contiennent des phtalates, connus pour perturber les niveaux hormonaux et provoquer des problèmes respiratoires », alerte le Dr Sethi. Mais selon l’Ademe (Agence de transition écologique), dans un rapport publié en 2017, l’utilisation de bougies parfumées peut provoquer des « irritations respiratoires et oculaires, des céphalées et des nausées ». En alternative aux bougies parfumées, il existe les fondants parfumés. Il s’agit de morceaux de cire avec des senteurs, pas directement brûlés mais qui fondent sous l’effet de la chaleur d’une bougie placée en dessous. Cependant, d’après une récente étude publiée le 3 février dans la revue Lettres sur les sciences et technologies environnementales, des chercheurs ont identifié une production de nanoparticules pouvant entrer dans les poumons et se poser sur les parois et les voies respiratoires.
