At 16.18 the police received a report of a boat accident at the Kulleseidkanalen in Bømlo. A small boat had driven up onto a stake, and a boy was pulled out of the sea and taken ashore by another boat. Large resources were sent to the city, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the boy. – Regrettably, this did not come to fruition and the boy was declared dead at 5.20 p.m., writes head of operations in the South-West police district, Nikolai Austrheim, in a press release. In the press release, the police state that the 12-year-old boy was from the area, and that the next of kin have been notified. They are now working at the scene with witness interviews and investigations to clarify what happened. – The police ask for your understanding that we have no more information to share about the case today, Austrheim wrote in the press release.
