A 12-year-old boy died in a boat accident in Bømlo municipality – news Vestland

At 16:18, the police received a report of a boat accident at Kråkeneset in the vicinity of the Kulleseid canal in Bømlo. A small boat had driven up onto a stake, and a boy was pulled out of the sea and taken ashore by another boat. Large resources were sent to the city, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the boy. – Regrettably, this did not come to fruition and the boy was declared dead at 5.20 p.m., writes head of operations in the South-West police district, Nikolai Austrheim, in a press release. – Terribly sad In the press release, the police state that the 12-year-old boy was from the area, and that the next of kin have been notified. – It is terribly sad, says Bømlo mayor Sammy Olsen (Sp). Mayor Olsen states that the Kulleseid Canal is popular with both tourists and local residents in the coastal municipality. – The police ask for your understanding that we have no more information to share about the case today, writes operations manager Austrheim in the press release.
