This could have negative consequences for European welfare systems. – Right now it is limited what ChatGPT and the language models can do, but it is obvious that these types of technologies will seep into large parts of the public sector. He believes that in a few years, private technology companies will be able to provide healthcare services that diagnose better than the public healthcare system in Norway. – We should be concerned. We have no say, he says. Until now, Europe has been mostly concerned with regulation through the AI regulation (AI-act). – There is legislation and regulations that set some restrictions. But there are private companies that do what they do, independently of us. We are only purchasers of these services. – We should help develop this technology here in Norway and in Europe, and not just wait for what Musk can achieve with these tools.
