Lando Norris raced to victory in Saturday’s sprint race in São Paulo, Brazil. The McLaren cars continue to prove to be the fastest in the field. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secured first starting position in the sprint race on Friday. Teammate Norris was chasing just behind. The two orange cars ran away and led all the way to the finish line. Norris was allowed to pass Piastri following a team order, and the Briton rolled to victory. Norris is constantly taking on Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the WC summary. It’s getting a long time since the Dutchman’s last Grand Prix win and Norris was 47 points behind him before Saturday’s race. Verstappen started fourth on Saturday and finished third. Later on Saturday, the drivers will run the qualification for Sunday’s main race. Four Grand Prix races remain before the end of the season. On Friday it became clear that Verstappen will change engines again and will thus be moved back five places in the starting field for Sunday’s main race. A Grand Prix win gives 25 points, while a second place gives 18. Placements up to and including 10th place give points in the WC summary. (© NTB)
