Serval owner files suit against the state – news Vestland

The woman who owned the serval was actually supposed to appear in the Oslo district court on Thursday this week. She had sued the state at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. She and her lawyer applied for a temporary injunction demanding that the state be prohibited from euthanizing Niño the serval until a legally binding decision is made. – We had been told that we would not be notified in advance, should Niño end up being euthanized. That’s why we took it to court, says the woman’s lawyer, Roy Arteid to news. The case has now been closed, says defender Arteid. This is also confirmed in the annulment order to which news has gained access. The case has been raised as a result of the serval owner having entered into an agreement with the Norwegian Food Authority that they will receive a notification if the exotic feline is to be killed. It is known that Kristiansand Zoo is currently taking care of the serval.
