There has been an explosion outside the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) on Wednesday, the authorities in the country say. Turkish media have also reported exchanges of fire with several people involved. TAI’s headquarters are located in Kahramankazan, right next to a military airport. The company is one of Turkey’s most important players in aviation and defence, and produces, among other things, parts for both Airbus aircraft and military combat aircraft. The cause of the explosion is currently unclear. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya calls it a terrorist attack. On X he writes that several people are injured or dead.
