Shareholders demand to take over Vipers – ask the boards to resign – news Sørlandet – Local news, TV and radio

– We, who have helped finance further operations, now demand to be allowed to continue running the club, says Morten Jørgensen. He is one of the initiators behind the demand. – Initiative is taken before the trustee where we contest the claim for termination or bankruptcy, he says. The group will now ask the boards of Vipers Topphandball and the club to resign from their posts. They will then call for an extraordinary annual meeting to elect new boards. – In this way, the club can be run without having to proceed in the bankruptcy court, he says. Last word not said On Sunday came the shock announcement that Vipers are bankrupt, after six intense days of money hunting. – Vipers have played their last home game, said a tearful chairman, Peter Gitmark. He said that a large majority of the board saw no basis for further operation. On Monday, the plan is for the club to announce a tender. But the last word has not been said. – If the club goes to the bankruptcy court with a demand for tenders, then we will start by submitting a demand for a temporary injunction. Everyone would benefit from avoiding such a legal process, says Jørgensen. It is also not certain that the last game has been played for the pink jerseys from Sørlandet. Here, chairman Peter Gitmark conveys that the club is bankrupt. Surprised by the decision, Jørgensen and others were among a local group that wanted to inject money into the rescue operation of Vipers. But the board believed that not enough money had come in overall. – There were many of us who put up different amounts. We believe that the amounts cover continued operations, and were very surprised by the board’s decision to petition for termination and/or bankruptcy. Jørgensen has been central to Vipers for several years. Both as a board member and in the administration. Among other things, he has been responsible for bringing players to the club. Jørgensen has also contributed many millions of kroner over several years at the club. Now he wants to help the club again, along with others. – We have the support of coaches and players, and hope everyone else with a heart for the club will also step in to support them, says Jørgensen.
