Vipers Kristiansand believe they were tricked in the hunt for millions – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– I think it is terrible that someone tries to expose others to fraud – regardless. Then it becomes extra serious that you waste time you don’t have in such a pressured situation. This is what Peter Gitmark, chairman of Vipers, tells news just a few hours before the big club’s fate is to be decided. On Wednesday, the Vipers manager stated that they were exploring six players. On Friday it was down to two. The decision on Vipers Kristiansand’s future will be decided immediately. Follow the case via the online case below: Vipers believe they have been contacted by at least one fake actor. Gitmark reveals to news that they have spent time talking to an alleged investor, and that person apparently has a fake Facebook profile. news has thoroughly reviewed the account of the alleged investor. According to news’s information, the user was created in July. news has also searched for the alleged investor’s name in databases with international company information, without getting any hits. The username of the Facebook profile is repeated on several other services, but even there the profile appears empty. – I don’t understand what the person in question could think of getting out of it, says Gitmark, referring to the specific situation. No trace of the person news has been in contact with the Facebook profile in question, who has answered our questions in English. The person behind the profile initially claimed to news that they were in talks with Vipers, but when news asked the person to explain the legitimacy behind the account, contact ceased. news has also carried out a reverse image search on the profile pictures the person has apparently posted of themselves. The searches show that there are pictures of a Tunisian businessman with a completely different name. news has carried out an extensive search for the name used on the Facebook profile, but without finding any trace that the person has any connection to any companies internationally. Not even on Google. Gitmark emphasizes that the person in question was not part of the six actors he went to the press and told that Vipers negotiated with. – Right from the start, he was one of those I thought could potentially represent a solution. He was never mentioned as one of the six. The dialogue was too uncertain for that, he says. After a longer dialogue with the alleged investor, the Vipers chairman finally received this email: Dear Mr. Peter, I always thank you for your feedback and the enormous consideration you have for me. I know your club the vipers and I know that it is a very big club and it deserves my efforts in order to help you maintain its financial level. As for a meeting or a call, I can’t at the moment because I had an appendix operation. I underwent a surgical operation for the appendectomy and I have been hospitalized for a few days and I must be under medical observation for some time. As for your need for 2 million euros in the next few months for the financial stability of your club the vipers, I can however make the necessary efforts to find a bank that will help you have a loan of 2 million euros quickly in a short period of time repayable over a long period of your choice with a better interest rate. As the owner of the vipers, you will sign a loan contract with the notary and quickly come into possession of the funds of 2 million euros in order to save your club. Here in a few lines, my proposal to help you from the hospital bed in order to save this club that I am enormously in love with. – Nigeria Scam After this, Gitmark determined that he no longer had any doubts: The alleged investor was fake. Gitmark says that they came into contact with the person in question through a Norwegian intermediary. The club did several searches on the Norwegian and came to the conclusion that this could be real as the person in question had a circle of acquaintances that consisted of “many different types of people”. – Then we chose to go ahead to see if this was serious. The more dialogue we had, the more warning lights rang. That meant that we chose to put it away completely yesterday, says Gitmark on Friday. ATTEMPTED SCAM: Peter Gitmark. Photo: Javad Parsa / NTB – When and what made you realize that this is apparently a fabrication? – No, at the beginning the dialogue was quite straightforward. It had come via a third party who was a Norwegian whom we checked out. When we started having written dialogue, this seemed a bit auto-generated. It didn’t seem like it was written on its own. It seemed more like it was from a program or a “playbook” from a Nigerian scam, he replies and continues: – That made us put it away, at the same time that we had to get to the bottom of who this actually is. We cannot make it to Monday if the club closes – and then we have said no to very real actors. We are also dependent on drawing it to a conclusion. – How much time have you spent on this? – Linked to this specific case, we are talking about a couple of hours. Fortunately, it is very manageable, replies the chairman. news has spoken to the intermediary. He claims he has nothing to do with this. At the same time, the intermediary claims that he has known the person for a number of years. The person tells news that he does not want to discuss whether the account is fake, but emphasizes that he has nothing to do with this case. Published 18.10.2024, at 15.55
