A man in his early 30s has been charged with the murder of Aina Sigrun Hygge in Grue on 26 January this year. According to the indictment from the public prosecutor, she was hit repeatedly in the head and face with a hammer. She died of her injuries at Kongsvinger hospital later that day. The prosecution believes he was insane at the time of the act. – He has been subject to a forensic psychiatric examination which has concluded that he has a serious psychiatric illness, which means that he does not have the capacity to blame under the Criminal Code. Therefore unreasonable, says state attorney Thorbjørn Klundseter to news. He cannot therefore be sentenced to prison. The prosecution wants a verdict on transfer to compulsory mental health care. The police have previously stated that the man hitchhiked to Kongsvinger police station where he was arrested and charged with murder. He must have reported himself to the police.
