Hotel in Bergen evacuated after fire in basement – fire extinguished – news Vestland



A fire has been reported in a basement at Torgallmenningen in Bergen. The fire is said to have started in a kitchen in a restaurant. There is a hotel on the floors above, and all the guests were evacuated. The emergency services are on the scene. They have not seen any smoke from outside. Smoke divers have been inside the building and examined the scope. – Eight people receive health supervision on site. They have got some smoke in them, says duty commander in the 110 central, Helge Lund. In an update, the police write that there are six people who are being treated by the health department because they have been exposed to smoke. At 5:36 p.m., the fire service reports that the fire has been extinguished. Upon initial investigation, it appears that the fire started in a sofa inside the restaurant. Smoke is being vented, and all guests in the hotel can re-enter.
