Giske is scrapped by the nomination committee – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

This is confirmed by the head of the committee, Roar Aas, on Thursday evening. – It is true that there is only one person who supports the dissent and then there is a majority for the other list. Trond Giske’s name is not on the list supported by the majority. The nomination committee is scheduled to submit its proposal for the electoral list for Sør-Trøndelag constituency on Friday. The proposal for the list will be sent to the local legislature before the nomination committee’s final recommendation will be ready on 17 October. Leirtrø withdraws The news comes the same evening that it became clear that Storting politician Kirsti Leirtrø is withdrawing from the nomination process. In a post on Facebook, Leirtrø wrote on Thursday evening that she feels privileged to have been able to concentrate on politics for the past ten years. – If we are to win elections, we must be generous and embrace everyone in our team. We must do as in a team game, put feuds aside, make each other good, caring teammates. She further writes that she is doing well, and: – Things are worse with the team and the people I have been so fond of here in Trøndelag. Kirsti Leirtrø. Since last year, Hopsø has been State Secretary to Minister for Employment and Inclusion Tonje Brenna. Roar Aas says the process in the committee has been good, even if Leirtrø withdrew on the same evening as the nomination committee was supposed to meet to finalize its list. – We have had a very good, thorough and orderly process, says Aas. Photo: Håvard Greger Hagen / news According to Adresseavisen, Leirtrø should have informed the committee that she is resigning at 6pm on Thursday evening. – The process has taken place over several days and we have interviewed nine relevant candidates and had many good discussions in the committee. Nevertheless, Aas says it’s a shame Leirtrø pulled out. – Kirsti is an incredibly popular politician in the municipality of Trøndelag. Believes the proposal breaks with the wishes of its members Pål Sture Nilsen is leader of the Trondheim Labor Party and forms the minority in the nomination committee. He believes the majority’s list proposal breaks with the members’ suggestions. – My proposal is to build on the majority among the members, and a large majority wanted Trond Giske over Hopsø, says Nilsen. – That their proposal breaks with what the members want, they will have to answer for themselves, he adds. Leader of Trondheim Labor Party Pål Sture Nilsen. Photo: Bjarte Johannesen / news He says that in any case it is the members of the party who will ultimately decide the nomination battle. – I have no comment as to why others in the committee have chosen not to listen to the members’ input. When asked if he agrees that the process has been orderly and good, Nilsen also replies “no comment”. Urge Giske to step aside When Kirsti Leirtrø announced that she was resigning earlier on Thursday, she simultaneously asked Giske to step aside. – I don’t want Trond. Now I ask him to step aside for new, younger forces, to move forward, said Leirtrø to Adresseavisen. – But I’m also preoccupied with member democracy, and then the members in Nidaros count just as much for bringing the team together. Nidaro’s social democratic forum is the local team Trond Giske has built up. Published 12.09.2024, at 21.58 Updated 13.09.2024, at 07.14
