The woman was unconscious when she was taken to Haukeland University Hospital. The accident happened around 6.45pm on Saturday evening, just before the light rail stop at Danmarks plass. The light rail had a direction towards the city centre. The woman was trapped, and was freed after 20 minutes. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was then started on her. The police were informed on Sunday that the woman had died, they state in a press release. Bringing in camera surveillance The police have video surveillance from Bybanen. They are now working to collect video from the light rail stop itself. – We are at the beginning of the investigation. We will question the light rail driver and witnesses, says police attorney Kjersti Katrine Svendsen in the West police district. The light rail driver has the status of a suspect after the accident. – The police’s initial investigations indicate that the driver cannot be blamed for the collision or had any real opportunity to prevent the collision, the police write. He is looked after by his employer after the accident. Several fatal accidents This is the fourth fatal accident following a collision with the Bybanen in Bergen. On Tuesday last week, an 18-year-old woman was also hit by the Bybanen between Danmarks plass and Florida. She ended up under the light rail car, but was quickly freed. She was not seriously injured.
