It is a pure sprint event. There was a new personal best for the distance: 20.64. The previous best time in 200 meters for the man from Moelv was 20.68. He was thus never close to a medal. – If we look at the whole weekend as a whole, this is a huge rise. Much of the reason why he takes part in such an event is to gain speed for 400 metres, says trainer and mother Mari Ann Bentdal to news. She says that he was matched against some of Norway’s fastest during the event. He impressed at several distances earlier this weekend too: 15.47 was the time for 150 metres. 15.33 is the Norwegian record. In addition, he ran 10.61 in the 100 metres. – Then he runs 200 meters now in 20.64. It shows how strong he is. The technique is set, so this bodes well, the coach continues. Next up for Håvard Bentdal Ingvaldsen will be the 400 meters in Zurich on 5 September.
