How much red meat is too much? And can you drink as much milk as you want? Is five a day still enough? After various proposals and discussions over the past year, the Directorate of Health has now presented its final dietary advice for Norwegians. This is the new dietary advice: Have a varied diet, choose mostly plant-based food and food with pleasure. Fruit, berries or vegetables should be part of every meal. Let wholemeal bread or other whole grain products be part of several meals each day. Choose fish and seafood, beans and lentils more often than red meat. As little processed meat as possible. Have a daily intake of milk and dairy products. Choose products with less fat. Sweets, snacks and sweet baked goods should be limited. Drink water. Snacks with a lot of sugar are not recommended in large quantities, according to the Directorate of Health. She says they have had the dietary advice after careful consultation, and have therefore made the advice as clear as possible. – We hope that the new advice is easier to understand and more motivating than the old ones were, says Granlund. The dietary advice was presented during Arendal Week on Thursday afternoon. Early this spring, the Norwegian Directorate of Health came out with its proposals for dietary advice. Afterwards, they asked most people to give me feedback. These were the first proposals for new dietary advice Have a varied diet, probably mostly food from the plant kingdom, and one with joy. Fruit or vegetables should be part of every meal. Let wholemeal bread or other whole grain products be part of several meals each day. Fish and seafood, beans and lentils and lean meat are good sources of protein – vary among these. Very little red meat and as little processed meat as possible. Have a daily intake of milk and dairy products. Well product with less fat. Food and drinks with a lot of salt, sugar or saturated fat should be limited. The biggest difference between the existing council and the new proposal was the number of councils. Twelve had become six, to make it easier for people to think. But the council mentioned, among other things, nothing about alcohol use, which the association Av-og-til thought was strange. Nordic dietary advice Last year, there was a completely new Nordic dietary advice. These councils placed great emphasis on eating climate-friendly. One should eat little meat, 350 grams a week is enough. In addition, they recommended that people avoid all alcohol. Several people reacted to that.
