– Everyone speaks English. I must be able to communicate with others. And in order to manage English press meetings, I must be able to speak English, says Jæger to news. The 21-year-old from Aremark has entered the world elite in sprinting this season. Fourth place in the 200 meters during the EC in Rome, was followed up with eighth place in the final of 400 meters during the Olympics in Paris. In Norway, she is also becoming a favorite because of her natural demeanor, not least in interviews with Norwegian media. But when the questions come in English, Jæger admits that she struggles to express herself exactly the way she wants. – The running is going better, she states. Iuel and Jæger have shared a room in the Olympic camp, and Jæger has been able to practice his English. – It is starting to recover, that is, says Iuel to news. And continued: – We have practiced a lot, and she has been tasked with watching a lot of English series this summer, so she can be extra prepared for the interviews. She’s not too happy about it, and I understand that. It is not easy to express yourself in English if you are not used to it. Iuel says that the women on the Norwegian relay team, who without Jæger reached the semi-finals of the Olympics, have had fun with old interviews Jæger has done in English. – It is going slowly, but surely better.
