– I do not know anything about his condition beyond the fact that he can speak and seems to be able to carry out an interrogation. He is out of danger. That’s what legal aid lawyer Bjørn Henriksen from the law firm Sterri, Rehman & Henriksen AS says. Henriksen currently knows little, he has only spoken briefly with the client on the phone. Now he is on his way to Ullevål hospital. The police will question the victim there, between 18:30 and 19:00 on Sunday evening. It was just after 9pm on Saturday that the police received a report of a stabbing at Landmannstorget in the center of Skien. Thinking about the knife victim The emergency services moved quickly and found a man in his early 20s who had been stabbed. Two men aged 24 and 21 have been arrested and charged in the case. The lawyer for the 24-year-old tells news that he has had a short conversation with his client. – He says that he was a witness to the night’s incident, and that he is now primarily concerned with the victim’s well-being, says Bouras. He states that the client has given him an explanation of what happened in Skien on Saturday evening, but Skobba does not want to go into what the 21-year-old has said. – I also do not want to comment on how he stands on the question of criminal guilt. He must first be allowed to tell the police. Hunting for a third person Police prosecutor Ole Jacob Garder at the Sør-East police district took over responsibility for the case on Sunday morning. He says that they are still looking for a third person who has been charged but not arrested yet. news is aware that there is a woman the police are looking for, but the police prosecutor does not want to confirm this. – We have searched and are looking for the third person, and ask that person to report to the police. The police have been looking for this person since Sunday morning, 19:15, the person has still not been arrested. – No idea about motive Garder says that the police so far have no idea about either the sequence of events or the motive for the stabbing. – We of course hope that the interviews and the further investigation can contribute to us getting clarity on that. Garder says the police have not seized any weapons, but they have reason to believe that at least a knife has been used in connection with the incident. – Are you confident that the police have arrested the right perpetrators in this case? – We have charged people we believe there is good reason to suspect were behind what happened, says Garder. Prioritizing resources To lawyer Skobba’s comment that the resource situation in the police is the reason his client has not been questioned, Garder replies: – We take the investigative steps we believe are appropriate and expedient at all times and prioritize the resources we have on an ongoing basis. The police want tips and to get in touch with people who saw or heard something of what happened in Skien last night, and ask them to contact the police.
