The fire service is said to have made contact with six of the people, but were unable to enter the ruins due to the risk of further collapse of the tiny hotel in the holiday town of Kröv. This is reported by the German broadcaster Südwestrundfunk (SWR). The rescue work is seen as very demanding. Around 250 rescuers are present with drones and rescue dogs. Several of them probably have serious injuries, and one person has been reported dead. None of them were taken out on Wednesday morning. There were a total of 14 guests at the hotel. Five of them must have managed to get out on their own. One of them told SWR that he was in the bathroom when the collapse happened. The two-storey building is said to have collapsed late on Tuesday evening. It is unknown what the cause is. According to SWR, eyewitnesses at the scene should have heard a bang in the area a little before 23 Tuesday evening. The police will hold a press conference at 10.
