Together with Arianrhod Engebø and Anna Helene Folkestad, they have created the podcast “Gruppechatten” where they have talked about each of the episodes as soon as they came out. She supports the audience who think it is strange that the production has not intervened. – I have reacted to the repeated negative remarks Joey and Sean have had towards the other participants. Arianrhod Engebø agrees with Ibishi that it has not always been as pleasant to watch when things have been at their worst. – I still think that there is a lot that we don’t get to see from the production side in those situations, and hope that they have given everyone involved in the drama close follow-up to make sure that everyone is fine in the villa. And with so many people who are all looking for a lover – or just a few more Instagram followers, if we’re being completely honest – it quickly becomes both drama and arguments over partners. The biggest triangle dramas I had this season were mainly two men who were responsible: the footballer Ronnie Vint, and Joey Essex. Both of these had several ladies who were interested in them, and whom they could not always quite make up their minds about, or who they just replaced one by one. In addition, there was a short little thing with Ayo, Mimii and Jessica, when Ayo chose Jessica over Mimii in Casa Amor. But the three of them sorted this out quite quickly. Popular series – This year’s season has been a gift package. It has been great fun following the participants, who have offered a lot of personality and humor this year, says Ibishi. – I think the season has been great! Often it can be a bit slow at the start and end, but this year I think it has been dramatic and entertaining across the board, says Engebø. Here in Norway, we have not spoken for the final yet, but 145,000 saw the premiere on TV 2 Play, and around 80,000 on average who have followed the season, although the number increases daily, according to TV 2’s press manager, Jan-Petter Dahl. Both Ibishi and Engebø have their theories about why the program has become so popular. – Basically, it’s about relationships, both in love and friendship, something everyone has a relationship with, says Engebø. She believes that many people like to watch dating programs and that the participants on Love Island are often so entertaining that it attracts viewers. Something Ibishi agrees with.
