The first three 10-shot streaks were all over 106 points. Thus, she was close to the world record halfway into the competition. – The opening at 106 is from another planet, was the verdict from sports manager Tor Idar Aune about the shooting at Duestad. But then the problems started. Duestad had three relatively poor hits, and then took a long break. There she walked away from the discs and had a chat with the Norwegian coach. When she finally started shooting again, she shot unsteadily for a while. But towards the end she rose considerably, and finally finished with 633.2 points. It gives second place in the qualification behind Hyojin Ban from South Korea. The score is better than when Duestad set an Olympic record in the qualification during the games in Tokyo in 2021. The final starts tomorrow (Monday). 17-year-old Synnøve Berg fought for a long time to get into the top eight for the final, but it didn’t last. Berg finished in 14th place.
