But there were rather more calls to the insurance company. The entire front garden and driveway to Hytta i Hvitsten are under water. – Now my husband is bathing in the water, she laughs. Einar Christiansen tried to save electronic tools in the shed, but it was not possible. Einar took the flood with crushing calm and instead decided to go for a swim. The road and the front garden in front of Marianne and Einar Christiansen’s cottage are impassable. Arrived in seconds Earlier in the morning she had moved her car to the neighboring plot, so that it would not be damaged. But the floodwaters chose their own path and washed away large amounts of gravel directly in front of both cars. – So now there is one meter down for the cars. The gravel has been washed away. He usually lives in Oslo, but has had a house in Hvitsten for the past five years. – We have never seen anything like this before. I have spoken to several others as well, who have lived here all their lives. Nor have they seen a flood like this, he says. The flood water from the river flows into the Oslofjord. Danger warning has been issued The Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain in parts of Eastern Norway. There is a risk of stormwater in densely built-up areas, local flooding and landslides in areas where the torrential rain hits. There is also the risk of closed roads and locally difficult driving conditions. The meteorologists advise people to keep up to date with the weather and to stay away from steep slopes and streams with high water flow.
