– Doesn’t look like we’re looking forward to it – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

In connection with the Olympics, official profile pictures and a text of all the athletes who will take part are published on the Games’ website. This year’s variants have not gone unnoticed and at X many have renamed this year’s “headshots”, portrait photos, to “mugshots”. The term is used for the characteristic police photographs taken of arrested persons in the United States. – Yes, it looks like I’ve been caught for something or other. That’s just the way it is, says Norway’s cycling hope Søren Wærenskjold with a small laugh. And he’s not the only one. The tennis players in particular are noticed. – A bit like a passport photo, you are not completely satisfied. It doesn’t really look like any of them are looking forward to it, but I think everyone does, says Casper Ruud after taking a look. OLYMPIC-READY: Casper Ruud appeared at a press conference before the Olympic city – with a fresh headband distinction: – It will probably be like this in the summer. Photo: NTB – It’s actually nitrite, it is. It could have looked worse, but a little smile wouldn’t have done anything, cyclist Tobias Foss points out. – Never know where the photos will go The same photo is used on the Olympic accreditations the athletes must take with them wherever they go. – I think I took that picture just as a selfie at home. So no matter how you try to take it, it will only be bad, says Wærenskjold. Mine is completely medium, and I’m good at that, says handball captain Stine Bredal Oftedal. – It looks like a medium minus, I think. I learned that I had to take a passport photo pretty quickly, so I curled my hair a little and stood in front of a white screen, and took a photo without thinking that it would appear on the accreditation. But I’ve seen worse here and, so I’m not going to complain, grins Foss. CYCLING HOPE: Søren Wærenskjold (left) and Tobias Foss have a good laugh at both their own and other Olympic photos. Photo: Stian Lysberg Solum / NTB – You never know where the photos are going, you just get told to take one, and then you don’t care so much about how or what. Had we known that, we might have put a little more effort into it, admits beach volleyball star Anders Mol. – It looks like it’s early in the morning, so it could be better, says partner Christian Sørum about his own photo. The day after news talks to the duo, there are updated photos on the official page: DIFFERENT: Anders Mol (top) and Christian Sørum have posted similar and more official photos on the Olympic page. Photo: Paris2024/Private Seven tips from the photographer Stian Lysberg Solum is a photographer at the Norwegian agency NTB. He understands why some of the photos are referred to as “mugshots”. – It shows that they have just stood up and been told to take a picture of themselves with their mobile phone, and send it in immediately, yes. It was a fun selection, he says to news. He comes up with several tips on how to take a good portrait photo. Look at yourself when you take the picture. Look at the light. Check that you get light in your eyes, that there is no mixed light from a window or lamp. Don’t take the picture from the bottom up, but straight ahead. Do not have the camera too close to yourself. Make sure the eyes can see well. Choose a white background, especially for photos to be used for accreditation or similar. PROFESSIONAL: NTB’s Stian Lysberg Solum had his accreditation photo taken by a photographer. Photo: Privat – And if you like the image of yourself, that’s a good starting point, adds Lysberg Solum. He himself used his last tip, and perhaps the safest. – I went to a photographer to have the picture taken, says the experienced photographer. Published 26/07/2024, at 06.33
