12 July 2024 at 06:31 UN: An entire generation of children in Gaza is at risk – If this war continues, we are on the verge of losing an entire generation of children, says communications manager Juliette Touma at UNRWA, according to Al Jazeera. UNRWA is the UN organization for Palestinian refugees. Touma says at least 600,000 children have lost the opportunity for education since the war in Gaza started in October. She fears it could make them vulnerable to recruitment into military groups, but also child labor and child marriage. So far, over 38,295 people have been killed in Gaza since 7 October.
