24-year-old sentenced to 13 years in prison after killing his best friend – news Vestland

The man has now been found guilty of murder, and sentenced to 13 years in prison and to pay compensation to the deceased’s parents. The strict sentence is justified by the risk of repetition. The toy box incident happened in Løvstakkvegen in Bergen around Christmas 2022. Two other men were present in the apartment when it happened, but they were released after a short time. The two and a third comrade had drunk beer and vodka, and at one point the condemned 24-year-old decided to play boxing. The 24-year-old is said to have then received a cut on the forehead and been provoked. – I was angry, but just wanted to scare. He came towards me. I made a sudden movement and discovered that the part of the bottle had hit him in the neck. I was completely shocked and confused, he said in court according to BA. – It was a tragic accident. It was never meant to hurt him or kill him. He was my best friend. The two must have known each other since they fled from an African country. They met on a boat to Italy, and in 2016 both came to Norway and became close friends, writes TV2. In the past as a child soldier, the 24-year-old has also been charged with criminal damage and a number of serious threats, BA reports. He admitted in court that he has problems controlling his anger and that he sometimes does not know what he is doing. He said that he has a past as a child soldier in Africa, and has himself been forced to take his own life.
