But not everything about the classic has necessarily stood the test of time as well, says news’s film reviewer Birger Vestmo. He believes the new film refreshes both the theme, the characters and the tiny universe they are in. This is the most watched cinema film in Norway this film year. – Director Mikal Hovland in no way tries to distance himself from the characteristics in the series, but sticks to the warm, safe and familiar. It seems that the Norwegian audience responded positively to this, since over 400,000 saw the film in cinemas, says Vestmo.
