It blew fresh in veils and wedding dresses, and at times the cloud cover was dangerously low. But the view into the fjord stood out when Mari and Maria got married at Trolltunga in Hardanger on Thursday evening. – Congratulations, now they can kiss, said the mayor to cheers and applause from well-dressed supporters. Then we thought it might be nice to do it on a mountain top or in the mountains. Then we saw that Ullensvang municipality was organizing, and then we jumped on it a bit, she says. – It engaged us more than we first thought. Last year 13 couples came, this year there were 20. Most couples came from various places in Europe, and one couple came all the way from Costa Rica to the tourist attraction. First, they have to trudge up for a few hours, and then they have to go down again afterwards as well. – They really appreciated and thanked us for doing this. But at night the weather was so bad that the mayor also had to spend the night on the mountain, as the helicopter could not get there. Some slept in tents, others in mobile barracks that the artist Kygo left behind after filming on Trolltunga recently. – At seven o’clock the sun was shining and the weather was lovely, says Haug.
